Facial Cleanser
Making your facial skin feel refreshed and rejuvenated by cleaning away dirt and unclogging pores
Facial Cleanser is the most important skin care product for your skin. It helps to clear the skin of dirt. Everybody's skin gets dirty from dust, make-up, sweat and other impurities. If you do not cleanse your skin, the pores will become clogged causing your skin to look dull and even worse, a breakout! Special liquid cleansers are recommended over using traditional bar soap. Your skin is by nature slightly acidic and most soaps are usually alkaline, thus leaving alkaline residue that is difficult to wash off and may leave skin feeling dry and tight. Cleansing of the skin removes perspiration, grease, dust, stale make up, dirt and bacteria which cannot be removed by ordinary washing of the face. Cleansing creams go deeper into the pores and wash them thoroughly.
Different Types Of Facial Cleanser
Soap - Soap are generally made of animal fats, vegetables oil and some form of alkaline salt. It breaks down to absorb oil and dirt and prevent skin from re-absorption. General soaps are not suitable as facial cleanser as it is incompatible with our skin. Our skin is slightly acidic, with pH about 5-6. pH for most bar soap is around 10 which is very alkaline. This changes our skin pH and can leave us with a tight and uncomfortable feeling. Soaps are usually not suitable for cleansing skin. If you prefer to use bar soap, choose one that is mild or moisturizing and tends to be less alkaline.
Water Soluble Cleanser - These products come in liquid form and dissolve in water. Water soluble facial cleanser can be splashed or wiped off easily. Some also contain emollient to leave skin feeling moisturized. Water-soluble facial cleanser is not as effective as soap but are less drying. A good product can do an effective job of cleansing your skin without stripping away as much oil as soap would.
Wipe Off Cleanser - Wipe off cleansers are non water soluble and must be removed by wiping off. They include creams and liquid makeup removers. The cleansers are heavier than water soluble cleanser and harder to remove. Often they require repeated wiping an may pull your skin.
How To Choose Cleanser:
Personal preference plays an important part in choosing the right facial cleanser. Many choose their cleansers based on the smell and other attributes. However, it is important to take into account your skin type when choosing your cleanser. Cream cleanser are rich and gentle, leaving a light, moisturizing film on your skin. This type of cleanser is ideal for dry, sensitive and mature skin. Lotion or gel and other water soluble cleanser is ideal for normal skin as it rinses off easily while foaming cleanser are best used on greasy skin as they dissolve any excess oil on the skin. Avoid scrubbing acne-proned skin when you clean your face as it might causing irritation after washing.
How to Apply Facial Cream Cleanser
Always tuck your hair before applying the cream to avoid messing the hair.
Apply cleansing cream in generous quantity on cheeks, chin, neck and forehead.
Massage the cleanser into the skin in a light upward and outward movement, concentrating on the creases near the nose, under the chin area, neck, earlobes, around the corners of the mouth.
Use a moist cotton to remove the cream as the dry cotton absorbs the moisture from the skin and we do not want to loose that moisture.
Repeat the cleansing process two or three times until the cotton wool comes out clean.
Use facial cleanser twice a day to clean your face, once in the morning and the second time is before going to bed.
