Common skin problem and the most effective tips to deal with it
Eczema is also called dermatitis. It is a general term meaning inflammation of the skin, characterized by redness, pain an itching. Atopic eczema is an illness (usually an allergy) that runs in the family. It is most common forms of eczema and is characterized by chronic dryness, redness, chipping and itching. This condition usually appears first during childhood and most patients recover before the age of 25, although some live with it their entire live.
In teens and young adults, the spot usually break out where the elbow bends on the backs of the knees, and on the face, neck and upper chest. It is important not to scratch it as this can lead to infections. Atopic eczema can be partly relieved by avoiding irritants like feathers, wool blankets, lanolin containing product and other wool products; dog, birds and cats, harsh detergent, certain food such as wheat, dairy and chocolate.

It is important for you to figure out what causes of eczema and do your best to avoid those irritants that caused your condition.
Don't wash the affected areas with soap. Use mild water-soluble cleanser dry well and then apply moisturizer.
Apply over the counter product to relived itching, if they fail consult a dermatologist for a stronger prescription product.
Oral antihistamines may calm itching and help you sleep better. Only take this mediacation at night as it can make you drowsy.
If all the above measure is not effective, do make an appointment with your dermatologist, remember not to scratch the eczema spot as it will make your skin more inflame.
